Early in my career, one booking mistake left me stranded and forced me to buy a last-minute ticket that cost more than I could comfortably afford. It was brutal. It also taught me something useful: tiny logistics errors can create big financial and professional problems.
That’s why I built Grumpy Dad Travel Tales. Not to sell the dream version of travel, but to share the real one — the lessons, systems, cultural insights, and practical habits that actually help when you need to land, perform, and get home in one piece.
For the past decade, my work in international marketing, business development, and online retail has taken me across airports, trade shows, hotel lobbies, and more awkward business dinners than I can count. Along the way, I’ve spent time in places like France, Vietnam, and Chile — learning what works, what backfires, and what people never tell you until it’s too late.
I’m not grumpy about travel itself. I love the human side of it — how people communicate, build trust, negotiate, eat, host, and move through the world.
